OCU is delivering essential utility diversions as part of one of the UK’s most complex infrastructure undertakings. Our Water and HDD teams have led the delivery of strategic diversions across water, gas, power and telecoms, applying our NIRS, GIRS and WIRS accreditations to ensure works are completed to the highest industry standards.


From deep excavations to highly constrained working environments, OCU’s collaborative approach, in-house engineering expertise and programme-led delivery model have enabled the safe and timely execution of critical enabling works for the wider rail infrastructure.

• 12 HDD bores drilled onto a single diversion 

• Deepest shaft: 12m deep, 5m diameter 

• Longest HDD on HS2: 1000m (500mm diameter)
